Doris Alost Cotaya passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the age of 92. She was the cherished wife of 16 years to the late Sylvester W. Cotaya. Daughter of the late Lillian Orr and Antoine Alost. Sister of the late Aurelie A. Alost. Step-mother of Pauline Cotaya Kelty (Eric).
Doris was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA and settled in Natchitoches, LA following hurricane Katrina in 2005. She truly enjoyed life through her simple pleasures of cooking, sewing, and gardening. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and cared deeply for her husband and sister especially through their illnesses. She was affectionately known for the love of her Chihuahua pets.
The family would like to thank the staff at Southside Gardens and Landmark of Baton Rouge for care and compassion while taking care of our Doris.
Doris will be laid to eternal rest in a private ceremony in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, Chalmette, LA.
