Edward "Eddie" George Konnecker

Edward George "Eddie" Konnecker, 88, passed away on February 19, 2025, in Chalmette, Louisiana. Born on March 28, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Eddie lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to his family, faith, and passions.

Eddie proudly served for two years in the United States Coast Guard, working along the Mississippi River. His time in service instilled in him a deep appreciation for discipline and hard work—values that he carried throughout his life.

For over six decades, Eddie shared a loving marriage with his wife, Pauline. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. He is also survived by his sister Esther Bourgeois; sons Chris (Jen) and Paul (Michele); and grandchildren Madison, Ethan, and Gabriell. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Emma Luscy and Louis Konnecker; brothers Louis and James; and sisters Amelia and Delores.

A man of simple joys and steadfast devotion, Eddie found happiness in the everyday moments of life. He took great pride in maintaining his lawn with meticulous care and ensuring his cars were always in pristine condition. Driving was one of his favorite pastimes—whether it was a leisurely ride through the city or a trip to the Gulf Coast casinos for a bit of fun.

Eddie was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints, rarely missing a game as he cheered on this beloved team with unwavering enthusiasm. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing golf with his brothers and friends—a pastime that brought him both camaraderie and joy. His faith was also an important part of his life; he was a devoted member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.

Eddie's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love for family, dedication to the things he cherished most, ad warm spirit will remain in the hearts of those he touched. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor, 2320 Paris Rd, Chalmette, LA 70043. A funeral mass will be held in Eddie's honor at 11:00 AM. All guests are invited to the repast at Rocky & Carlo's Restaurant, in the Sicilian Room, from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
