Elwood "Bosco" Joseph Chauvin

Elwood "Bosco" Joseph Chauvin passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the age of 94. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betty" Rose Waguespack Chauvin for 60 years. Loving father of Denise Marie Chauvin Heigle and David Chauvin (Suyapa), Elwood was also a proud and cherished grandfather to Joshua David Heigle and Gabriella Chauvin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Ursin Chauvin and Aline Marie Gaudet Chauvin; his sisters, Dorothy Lefort (Michael) and Shirley Wetzel (Jim).

Elwood proudly served 12 years in U.S. Navy Reserves. He dedicated his life to his family. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his favorite teams the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his senior group friends visiting casinos.

Born and raised in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, Elwood later lived in St. Bernard Parish before making his home in Slidell. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a steady, caring presence in the lives of all who knew him. His life was centered on his family, and he will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, LA 70461.
