Emile Charles Ripp Jr.

Emile Charles Ripp, Jr., 80, was called home to his Lord and Savior on October 3, 2021. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, the late Mary Patricia Ripp; by his parents, the late Clara and Raymond Gremillion, and the late Belle and Emile C. Ripp, Sr.; by his granddaughter, the late Bailey Ripp; and by his great-grandson, the late Garrett April, Jr.

He is survived by his children, Cheri April (Alvin), Emile III (Mary), Steven (Lisa), and Mary Bilquist (Larry); by his grandchildren, Brandy, Dustin, Garrett, Felicia, Ryan, Aaron, Sarah, Julia, Brett, Brandon, and Brad: by his great-grandchildren, Gabby, Amelia, Roman, and Ava; and by his sister, Clara Cinquemano .

Emile is a retired Captain of the New Orleans Fire Department, a retired deputy of the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office, a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, and a graduate of Delgado College. He loved traveling and sightseeing with his little sidekick, Scarlett, and loved camping and Big Band music. His favorite past times were watching old Western movies, and reading Louis L'Amour Westerns. He will be forever loved and missed by all his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

A funeral mass will begin in Emile's memory at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
