Estrellita Samaniego Wallace

Estrellita “Lita” Samaniego Wallace passed away on April 2, 2023, at the age of 74. She was born in Manila, Philippines, on September 12, 1948, and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish. Loving wife to the late Albert N. Wallace. Estrellita was the caring mother to Denise McClendon (the late Roger McClendon), the late Patti Thornton (the late Michael Thornton), the late Evelyn W. Neill, and Albert L. Wallace (Angela K. Wallace); grandmother to John M. Neill Jr., BreeYanna M. Wallace, Alayna L. Wallace, Aria L. Wallace, Raven T. Smith, Matthew O. Thornton, Mitchell McClendon, and Jeremy McClendon; great grandmother of numerous great-grandchildren. She was the proud sister to Fe Samaniego Legaspi, Corazon Lagrimas, Salome Samaniego, Veronica Samaniego, Elvie Samaniego, Juan Samaniego Jr., Roberto Samaniego, and the late Efren Samaniego. Preceded in death by her parents, Margarita P. Samaniego and Juan Samaniego Sr.

Estrellita's greatest joy was raising her children and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was the Matriarch of her family. Estrellita loved taking trips to the casino with her friends. We will all miss her deeply, but her memory will live forever in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA, on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
