Ethel May Villars

Ethel Bouterie Serpas Villars passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the age of 85. She was the beloved wife of the late E. Roy Serpas by first marriage and the late Gerald F. Villars by second marriage. Daughter of the late Lillian Roach Bouterie and Frederick "Ted" Bouterie, Sr. Loving mother of Susan Serpas Kramer (Albert), Steven E. Serpas (Leslie) and Stewart L. Serpas (Beth). Cherished grandmother of Dale Kramer, Darrell Kramer, Cate Dwight (Dustin), Steven Serpas, Jr. (Shannon), Mitchell Serpas (Chavanne) and Victoria Serpas. Proud great-grandmother of Kameron, Ruby, Peyton, Steven, and Wrenn. Sister of the late Frederick Bouterie, Jr. Sister-in-law of Yvonne Morel. Step-mother of Charleen Lott (Harold) and Carolyn Sharp (Leroy). Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and many friends. Ethel was born in New Orleans, LA and lived there until 1961. She was a resident of Arabi, LA until Hurricane Katrina. Since 2005 she has resided in Covington/Mandeville, LA. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Emeritus at Mandeville Assisted Living, Lakeshore Hospice and Dr. Craig Parker. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A funeral mass will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
