Evelyn Blanchard Despaux

Evelyn Blanchard Despaux entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the age of 99. Evelyn was preceded in death by her late parents, Louis and Jane Blanchard, husband, Louis P. Despaux, Jr., son Louis P. Despaux III, daughter Annie Fisher and grandson, Louis P. Despaux, IV. She is survived by sisters, Mary Acosta, Shirley Gioe, Jackie McConnell and Ruth Zulli, her daughters, Gwen Reese (Ronnie) and Barbara Boudousquie, grandchildren, Tammy St. Philip (Chuck), Jason Phillips (Anita), Jennifer Wilson (Michael), Bradley Reese (Jessica), Kristin Bachemin, Harry Fisher (Monique), Kory Despaux, Herbie Fisher (Kimberly) and 13 Great Grandchildren.

Evelyn lived a full and active life and especially enjoyed the friendships she made along the way. She enjoyed going to the casino in her early years. Later years attending the St. Bernard Council on Aging.

Her 99 years brought a lifetime of experiences, friendships, and family memories. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

A private burial will be held.
