Gaetano “Guy” Vincent Perniciaro Jr. passed away at his home on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the age of 82. He was the beloved husband of Rosary Tromatore Perniciaro. Loving father of Robin Perniciaro Newman and Mark Perniciaro. Proud grandfather of Taylor Newman. Great grandfather of Zoe Roberts, Amelia Roberts and Beau McLain. Son of the late Gaetano Perniciaro Sr. and Mary Kerber Perniciaro. Brother of David Perniciaro (Debbie), Robert Perniciaro (Donna), Margaret Gallo Perniciaro (Joey) and the late Jimmy Perniciaro. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Guy was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and spent many years as a resident of St. Bernard Parish before eventually settling in Covington, Louisiana. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, appreciating the little things that often mean the most. He had a genuine appreciation for everyday moments, a warm heart for those around him, and a love for golfing whenever the opportunity arose.
For more than 44 years, Guy dedicated his professional life to Lamarque Ford as a Fleet Manager. Throughout his remarkable career, he built lasting relationships with coworkers and customers alike, many of whom became like extended family. He took great pride in his work and genuinely enjoyed the people he encountered along the way. Whether at work or gathered with family, Guy valued the connections he made and the time spent with those who mattered most.
While his career brought him great fulfillment, nothing surpassed the love he had for his grandchildren. They were his greatest joy and the source of immeasurable pride. His love for them was evident in the sparkle in his eyes, the warmth of his hugs, and the tenderness with which he spoke their names. He had a way of making them feel cherished without needing grand gestures or big words.
To his family, Guy was so much more than any job title could ever describe. He was a beloved son, a devoted brother, a loving father, and a proud Grandpa who gave his whole heart to those he loved. He was a steady presence, a source of comfort, and a man whose kindness and quiet love made life richer for everyone around him.
Guy leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, cherished memories, and meaningful connections that will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. Though his absence leaves a deep void, the love he shared and the memories he created will forever bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
He will be missed beyond measure, loved beyond words, and remembered always.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W.
