Gary Kenneth Berthelot

Gary Kenneth Berthelot was born on August 14, 1961 and passed away on September 8, 2015 at the age of 54. He was the cherished husband of Tricia DiMaggio Berthelot for 29 years. Loving father of Jennie Watts (Jason), Jessie Trago (Matt), Adam Berthelot (Hali) and Amanda Berthelot (John). Son of Jerry Kenneth Berthelot (Denise) and Joan Barcelona Berthelot. Son-in-law of Betty and Conrad Wiegand. Brother of Ginger Euvino (Kevin). Nephew of Robert Berthelot, Peggy Janneck and John Barcelona. Proud grandfather “Pawsy” of Jason Watts Jr., Aubrie Watts, William Trago and Ella Berthelot. Also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gary was a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA and a current resident of Kiln, MS. In 2007 he relocated to Jordan River Shores fulfilling his dream of living on the water. Gary was the owner of Berthelot Design and Construction. He was a general contractor in Louisiana and Mississippi for over 30 years. Dedicated to his profession, he performed his work with great pride. Gary was a very generous and kind man who truly loved people. In as little as two weeks he considered everyone he met “my friend”. Gary enjoyed hunting & fishing and participated in big game sport fishing. He spent many years and his most recent days on the water aboard his beloved yacht “Lady B”. Gary will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, nephew, “Pawsy” and friend. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
