

Gary Joseph Estopinal, born August 22, 1957, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully the evening of March 16, 2024, at the age of 66 after bravely battling esophageal cancer for just over a year.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Nolan and Sylvia Estopinal.
Gary is survived by his children, Sherie E. Beasley (Jamie), Kevin Estopinal, and Erica E. Moreci (Jeff); his three granddaughters, Bree Beasley, Mia Moreci and Olivia Beasley, who were the light of his life; his sister Michelle Estopinal, brother Troy Estopinal (Melissa) and nieces Brittany Nicosia, Megan and Macey Estopinal.
Gary lived a long and fulfilling life with a deep connection to the things he cherished most. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, hanging out with friends, playing Texas Hold ‘Em and most of all fishing on the water. In his early career he was a welder out of the Local 60, helped establish Chalmette Amusement with his father, and helped operate his family's restaurant, Mutt's. After Katrina, he fulfilled his dream of fishing for a living by becoming Captain of Reel Time Charters.
Gary will be fondly remembered for his gentle spirit, his unwavering kindness, and his infectious zest for life. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, reminding us that each moment is a chance to create lasting memories and to live life to the fullest, just as he did.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a visitation at Celebration Church, 7500 W. Judge Perez Dr., Arabi, LA, on Monday, March 25th from 10:00AM – 12:00PM, followed by a celebration of Gary’s life beginning at 12:00PM. Burial to follow Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, Louisiana 70124.
