Georgia Fontenot Randazzo Passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at the age of 88. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends, sharing stories and memories of someone who touched so many lives. She was the cherished wife of 59 years to the late Alexander Louis Randazzo. Loving mother of Cynthia Randazzo Dotson (Robert) and Kathy Randazzo Anderson (Mark). Daughter of the late Ernest Fontenot and Amelia West Fontenot. Sister of Jane Toney, Bobbie Jo Comeaux, Charles Fontenot and Ernest Fontenot. Mother-in-law of the late Herb Dotson and Mark Anderson. Proud grandmother of Ashley Dotson Gould (Luke), Alex Dotson (Cali), Matt Anderson, Dan Anderson and Chris Anderson. Great-grandmother of Brayden White, Brinley White, Brody Gould, Ansleigh Dotson, Casen Dotson and Bowen Dotson. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Georgia was born in Church Point and was a longtime resident of Chalmette. She devoted her life to caring for others, both through her work and through the kindness she showed everyday. A beautician since the age of 19, Georgia continued seeing clients until her passing, a true reflection of her love for the people she served. In her younger years, she often cut the neighborhood children’s hair free of charge, never hesitating to give her time and talents to those around her.
Georgia was known for her generous heart, compassionate spirit and deep empathy. She found joy in helping others and quietly supported many special causes throughout her life. She also loved her trips to the casino — a pastime she enjoyed so much that not even Mother’s Day could compete with it! Above all else, Georgia treasured her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her world. The pride and love she felt for them could be seen in her eyes, felt in her hugs, and heard every time she spoke their names. Her love didn't need grand gestures or elaborate words - it was steady, genuine, and deeply felt by everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Georgia will always be remembered for her loyalty and devotion to her family, her caring and loving nature, her laughter and the countless ways she spoiled her grandchildren. She lived as a beautiful example of compassion, generosity and selflessness. Her presence brought comfort and joy to so many and she will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, May 21st from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a celebration of Georgia’s life beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
