It is with profound love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Geraldine "Geri" Gervais who departed this life at the age of 94. A devoted widow since 2016, she carried the memory of her late husband Forest, with her every day, drawing strength from the love they shared. Before her illness, she embraced life with a joyful spirit. She loved karaoke, traveling, and especially dancing—her favorite pastime and something she shared generously with everyone around her. She also enjoyed going on cruises, finding delight in new places, new people, and every moment of adventure. She was happiest in the company of her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every hug, every visit, and every milestone. At home, she found peace in cooking for family and friends and spending quiet moments completing puzzles—simple joys that brought her great comfort.
Geri is survived by her children, Cindy Carboni (Bob), Debra Rhemann (Ralph), Trish Gervais, Charlene Serigne (Jimmy) and Forest Gervais Jr.(Richard); her grandchildren, Cherie Naquin (Roy), Chuck Voelker (Celina), Clint Voelker, Barry Tanner (Desiree), Melissa Tanner Bahan, Brandi Rawashdeh (Al), Brandon Thompson (Grace), Nicole Ponthieux (Danny), Casey Toye and Michael Trahan; her great-grandchildren, Zoe, Cullen, Cam, Cora, Kadence, Audrey, Clara, Devin, Haley, Christian, Elijah, Alayna, Samuel Thompson, Kylee, Kiersten, Donovan, Samuel Reeves, Jaydence, Michael Jr., and Olivia; and her sibling, Paul Jack Barilleau Sr. She is preceded in death by her husband Forest Gervais Sr.; her children, Linda Gervais and Michele Gervais; her grandchild, Bambi Gervais; her siblings, Norma Andrews, Dot Murphy, Loverna LeBoeuf, Gussie Sewell and her parents, August & Dora Portes Barilleau.
Her warmth, humor, and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and the beautiful reminder to dance whenever life gives you the chance.
She will be forever loved and deeply missed.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Serenity Hospice Care for their compassionate care, support, and dedication to their mother during her final chapter.
