Harley Waldo Bodden

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Harley Waldo Bodden, who departed this life on July 14, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on February 24, 1947, in Roatan, Honduras, Harley later made his home in Chalmette, Louisiana, where he built a life centered on faith, hard work, patriotism, and, above all, family. Harley was the beloved husband of Oleane Bodden, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. Together they raised a beautiful family that was the pride and joy of his life. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Dara (Nick), Harley (Jessie), and Kim (Ed). He was a proud grandfather to Dylan, Kyle, Talon, Haven, Katie, Alex, Andrew, Grayson, Landon, and Logan, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Harley believed that life's greatest wealth was not measured in money but in the love of family. He often reminded those around him with his favorite saying: "I may not be rich, but I'm rich in family." Those words perfectly reflected the way he lived every day. A proud patriot, Harley deeply loved America and was grateful for the opportunities it gave his family. He enjoyed spending time with those he loved, sharing stories, offering wisdom, and creating memories that will live on for generations. His strength, kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort knowing his legacy lives on through his wife, children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know him. His love, guidance, and example will continue to inspire his family every day.

Harley will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS.
