Helen Ward Denneau

Helen Ruth Ward Denneau, of Marrero, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at 105 years of age on Monday, July 23, 2018, with family by her side, at West Jefferson Medical Center, located in Marrero, Louisiana. She was born on Sunday, July 20, 1913 in East Depere, Wisconsin, to Frank E. Ward and Sarah B. Ward. Helen was one of 10 children. She married the late Elvin Denneau in March of 1935. They were married for 36 years.

Helen is survived by her daughter-in-law Susan P. Denneau (the late Richard), daughter-in-law Sharon Drake (the late Frank), her granddaughter Gena D. Boudreaux and her husband Patrick, her grandson Scott A. Denneau and his wife Lindsay, her granddaughter Sharla Gray (and family), her step-grandson Joseph Alphonso (and family), her great-grandchildren, Emma C. Denneau, Patrick L. Boudreaux, and Jonathan E. Denneau. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Frank E. and Sarah B. Ward, her husband Elvin F. Denneau, her three sons, Frank C. Denneau, James A. Denneau and Richard L. Denneau, her seven sisters, two brothers, her daughters-in-law Diane Denneau and Zula Denneau, and her grandson Gary Denneau.

Helen lived a fulfilled life and enjoyed sewing, crafts and just spending time with family, friends and anyone new she met. We will miss her dearly.

A visitation will be held for Helen on Friday, July 27, 2018 at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
