Hlanson "Coon" Cosse

Hlanson "Coon" Cosse, 71, passed away on August 3, 2021. He was the beloved husband of nearly 50 years, to Jane Asevado Cosse; loving father of Chad Cosse (wife, Stephanie), and Erin Cosse; grandfather of Gage and Dane Grashoff (children of Stephen Grashoff), and Noah and Noelle Cosse; he was "PawPaw Coon" to Beau and Kane Reeves; brother of Louis, Burton, Dolly, and Royanna; uncle of Tara, Louie, Brandy, Wendy, BJ, Tonja, and their families; and Paran of Crystal, Bubby, and Korey. He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Dotsi Nunez Mones, and by his father, the late Ray Cosse. Coon was the Godson of Barbara Terrebone and the late Mike Evans, and the lifelong friend of Roger Callia. He was loved by friends and family members too numerous to name.

Coon was a member of Local 406A I.U.O.E., and a car enthusiast who loved watching football, playing pool, and drinking with his friends at Da Pope Launch and O.A.B. He also enjoyed the annual "Buppa" golf tournament, and the camaraderie of the P.F.U.F.A.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a gathering on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held in his memory at 11:00 AM. Please be mindful that properly worn facial coverings are required at all times inside the funeral home, except when actively eating or drinking.
