Honore Joseph Canty Sr.

Honore J. Canty Sr. passed away at his home on Thursday, January 8, 2015 surrounded by his beloved wife and three children at the age of 58. He was the cherished husband of Elaine “Nina” L. Canty for 30 years. Loving father of Angela M. Canty, Sara R. Canty (Travis Ducoing) and Honore “Joe” Canty Jr. (Ashley S. Canty). Son of the late John B. and Martha R. Canty. Devoted brother of John B. Canty Jr., Callie C. Capitano and Regina C. DeAngelo. Proud grandfather of Taydem Trevino and Hayes Canty. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Honore was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish. He was a graduate of Nichol’s High School and a proud member of Andrew Jackson Mason Lodge No. 428. Honore was an employee of DCL for over 30 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Masonic Service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. Roch Cemetery No. 2, New Orleans, LA.
