Howard Henry Beal Jr.

Howard Henry Beal Jr, 64, of Chalmette, LA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday January 18th, 2023. Howard was born on December 7, 1958, in New Orleans, Louisiana and spent most of his life in Chalmette, Louisiana. Howard is survived by his 4 beloved Children, Brandi Joyce Beal, Jami Lee Beal (George), Howard Henry Beal III (Megan), and Nikki Marie Beal Martin (Sean); his 10 grandchildren, Jax Cardon (Josh), Morgan, Logan, Joseph, and Avery Serigne (Kimmie), Josilin, Nolan, and Evilyn Beal, Payton Beal and Kyler Martin; his Brothers and Sisters, Cherilyn Richter, Cynthia Dobson (Dennis), William Mack Beal, Chris Zimmer (Kenny), and Casey Beal (Patty) Howard will also be remembered and cherished by his numerous nieces and nephews.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents Marylin Mayfield Beal and Howard Henry Beal Sr; the mother of his children, Tammy Marie Scramuzza Beal, his niece Christi Lee Collins, his sister Carol Durnin, brother-in-law George Durnin and sister-in-law Kim Beal.

Howard worked as a mechanic at Carcraft for 25 years until he opened his own mechanic shop, Chalmette Auto Repair in 2006. He was a great mechanic and loved what he did. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He also loved all music, going to concerts, his boat and going fishing, Nascar and all sports, especially watching his children play and coaching. He will be remembered as “Coach Howard” by the many kids he coached over the years at Rebel Park. He will be deeply missed by us all, but his memory will live forever in our hearts.

A gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A memorial service will be held in Howard’s memory at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
