Janet Earla Borden passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the age of 60. She is survived by her sons Lofton Fairchild (Michelle) and Scott Fairchild (Katie) and granddaughters Elise, Laine, Tess and Mae. Janet was the lifelong, loving partner of Charles “Chuck” Mammelli. Sister of Anna Catalanotto, Mercy Perkins, Paul Borden, Earl Borden, and Burney Borden. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Bumford and Ludvine Borden. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Janet was a devoted and loving mother and spent much of her life caring for the members of her family, whether it was taking care of her mother through the latter years of her life or babysitting the children in the family. She was at her happiest spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, chatting with her sisters, working in her garden and traveling.
A visitation will be held for Janet on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 1:00 PM.
