Janice Hilborn

Janice Freeman Hilborn passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the age of 76. She was born in Somerville, MA on November 29, 1946. Janice is survived by her loving and devoted husband Paul Hilborn; her brother Richard G. Freeman (Deborah); niece Stephanie F. Tyner (Charles); nephews, Stephen M. Freeman (Noel) and Ray Hilborn (Diane); great nieces, Kailyn E. Tyner, Lauryn B. Tyner, Lillian G. Freeman and great nephews, Landon J. Freeman and Thomas F. Tyner. She is preceded in death by her parents, August G. Freeman and Louise Z. Freeman; her niece Jennifer E. Freeman.

Janice was a graduate of Slidell High School in 1965. After graduation she attended the University of New Orleans. She worked in medical records for LSU Medical Center and as a bookkeeper for the late trumpet player, Al Hirt. Janice was a member of Southeast Louisiana Living History Association Inc., St. Bernard Art Guild and Louisiane Vintage Dancers. She enjoyed doing photographs, sewing, crocheting, living history reenactments, 19th century period dancing and touring plantation homes. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, family and friends. She will be deeply missed by us all but her memory will live forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers Janice’s family ask that you make donations in her memory to The National Kidney Foundation.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM-1:00PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
