Jewel M Simolke

Jewel Grethel Simolke passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the age of 89. She was born in New Orleans, LA on November 15, 1933, and was a resident of Slidell, LA. Loving wife to the late Frank Simolke. Jewel was the caring mother to Karen Marrero (the late Robert), Trudy Perez (Gregory), Louis Landreaux (Karen) and the late Matthew Landreaux (Tracye); grandmother to 6 grandchildren and great grandmother of 6 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Paul Grethel Sr., and Theresa Grethel; her siblings, Paul Grethel Jr.

Jewel graduated from High School and worked 26 years with the St. Tammany Parish School Board. She has been retired from the school system for over 20 years enjoying time with family and friends. Her greatest joy was raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jewel loved being in the yard cutting her grass and going to the casino with friends. She will be deeply missed by us all, but her memory will live forever in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 10:00 A.M.
