

Joyce Mary Lemoine LeBourgeois, born Jan. 10, 1931 in Hessmer, LA, died Oct. 31, 2015 peacefully at home in her sleep after an extended illness under the loving care of her family and Notre Dame Hospice. She was the daughter of the late Wilmore Lemoine and Lillian Gautier Lemoine of Mansura, Avoyelles Parish, LA. Cherished wife of the late Noah LeBourgeois, Jr of Whitehall, LA. They were married 43 years before he passed away on Oct. 21, 1994. Loving mother of Stephanie Ann LeBourgeois Peach, husband Simon R Peach and Stephen Anthony "Boo" LeBourgeois. Proud grandmother of Megan Marie LeBourgeois and Taylor Anoah LeBourgeois, whose mother is Michelle Reilly LeBourgeois Quiram. Sister of Dolores Lemoine Cross and spouse Thomas Cross, and her late sister Rita Lemoine Martinolich and spouse Gus Martinolich. Sister-in-law to Gerard Schuler and the late Nancy Fontenot Schuler, Herman & Catherine LeBourgeois, Aristile & Agnes LeBourgeois, Ethel LeBourgeois Dauterive & Raymond Dauterive, Lucille LeBourgeois DuSaules & Vernon DuSaules, Hyacinth Fontenot Hiatt & Curtis Hiatt. She is survived and fondly remembered by her godchildren, along with many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. Mrs. LeBourgeois attended High School in Bunkie, LA, but graduated at McDonough 35 High School when the family moved to New Orleans. She received an associate degree in Business from Soule College in New Orleans. She enjoyed a long career in the city as an accountant/business manager and then became a Credit Manager at Chrysler for 28 years until her retirement. The LeBourgeois family were longtime residents of St. Bernard Parish in Arabi throughout Hurricanes Betsy and Katrina. Joyce was a longtime parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine and Prince of Peace Parishes in Arabi and latterly of our Lady of Perpetual Help Community in Belle Chasse. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, November 6th from 10:00AM – 12:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 12:00PM, officiated by Fr Herb Bennerfield, III. She will be laid to rest with her husband Noah in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Friends of Chrysler Credit, Freeman Decorating, Jefferson Parish School System, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Notre Dame Hospice and neighbors in Carolyn Park, Arabi and Belle Chasse are welcome.
