Juanita "Louise" Melerine

Juanita “Louise” Dupre Melerine passed away peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the age of 75. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her life. She was the cherished wife of the late Ray L. Melerine Sr. Loving mother of Ray Melerine Jr, Denise Roberts (the late Donald), Dawn Ratcliff (Tim), Desiree Stephens (Jack) and the late Irwin Melerine. Daughter of the late Raymond and Juanita Sikes Dupre. Sister of Brenda Thibodeaux, Germaine Constant, Joann Holden and the late Dennis Dupre, Donald Dupre, Gene Dupre and Audrey Wright. Proud grandmother of Ray Melerine III, Brian Nashworth, Brandt Melerine, Angie Melerine, Beau Melerine, Jenna Thompson, Brittany Tanner and Meagan Roberts. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her 12 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Juanita was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. She was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend of many, who treasured her family and never missed an opportunity to curl up with a good book. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2805 Bayou Rd., St. Bernard, LA on Tuesday, March 8th from 10:30AM – 12:30PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Juanita’s memory beginning at 12:00PM. She will be laid to rest with her husband Ray in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
