Judith "Judy" S. Salvaggio

Judith Mercedes Salgado Salvaggio, 78, of La Ceiba, passed away on June 30, 2021, in Chalmette. Judith is survived by her children, Nicolle Salvaggio, Louis Salvaggio (Ashley McDonald Salvaggio), and Tatiana Salvaggio D’Antoni (Clarence Joseph D’Antoni); grandchildren, Louis Salvaggio Jr, Sophia Salvaggio, Julia Salvaggio, Dominick Salvaggio, Bailie D’Antoni, Elizabeth D’Antoni, Sarah D’Antoni, Clarence Joseph D’Antoni Jr., Olivia D’Antoni; and her sister, Teresa Salgado de Romero. Judith is preceded in death by her parents, the late Maria Luisa Speer de Salgado and Antonio Ramon Salgado Sauceda; by her husband, the late Louis Salvaggio; by her siblings the late Isabel Salgado de Castillo, Norma Salgado de Lopez, Maria Luisa Salgado de Anderson, Nohemi Salgado de Caballero, Yolanda Salgado de Diaz, Marcia Salgado de Martinez, Flavia Salgado Speer, and Roy Salgado Speer; and by her beloved mother in law, the late Zenobia Louise Riley Salvaggio. Judith was born La Ceiba, Honduras, to Maria Luisa Speer de Salgado and Antonio Ramon Salgado Sauceda on September 27, 1942. She went to school at Maria Auxiliadora.

She married Louis Salvaggio on September 16, 1967, in New Orleans. She worked as a credit clerk for Universal Furniture for over eight years. Judith came from a large family and was loved and will be remembered by many, including her adoring nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins, and friends. She welcomed everyone into her home and heart, and that is how she will be remembered. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the hospice caretakers from Notre Dame Hospice and Fresenius Kidney Care, in Chalmette, for always taking such great care of her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2305 PARIS ROAD, in Chalmette, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. A funeral mass will begin in her memory at Noon.
