Julie Ann Murray

Julie Ann Murray passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the age of 56. She was born in New Orleans, LA on November 28, 1965 to the late Martin “Micky” Murray and Barbara Wolverton Murray and resided in St. Bernard Parish. Julie was the loving mother of Blake Nagim (Jennifer Nagim). Proud grandmother of Blake Abraham Nagim. Caring sister to Kevin Murray (Susan).

Julie graduated from Andrew Jackson in 1984. She worked at BJ’s Pawn Shop for 30 years and in 2016 started her own business called J&K Jewelry and Pawn. She was the life of the party and could light up a room with her contagious laugh. Julie was a wonderful person with a kind heart that loved everyone. Her greatest pleasure was riding in the Italian-Islenos Parade on the Friends of Katz float. You would catch her throwing pineapples in the front of the float. She fought a tough battle with cancer giving it her all. Her motto she lived by was #BOOMSHAKALAKA. Her generous spirit and infectious personality will be missed by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA 70043 on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 11:30 AM- 1:00 PM. A prayer service will begin at 1:00 PM. Celebration of Life Party at Katz Lounge from 2:00 PM -5:00 PM.
