Kathleen R. Ballero

The world lost a beautiful soul on Friday, February 2, 2024, Kathleen Riecke Ballero peacefully left this world and took with her a piece of our hearts. Kathleen was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish and was employed by Mumphrey Law Firm until her retirement in 2015.

She was the daughter of the late Rosalie Sensebe Riecke and William E. Riecke Sr. Sister to William E. Riecke, Jr. (Ginny), the late Robert J. Riecke (Valerie) and Raymond A. Riecke (Julie).

In 1972, Kathleen married the late Frank W. Ballero, Sr., and shared 49 years of marriage. They had four handsome sons together who were the light of her life, Frank W. Ballero, Jr., Steven W. Ballero, David J. Ballero (Kimberly Santa Marina) and Scott W. Ballero (Robin). Her beautiful grandchildren include Sarah Maybry (Lee), Bailey Ballero, Marcelina Santa Marina and Jackson Tyre.

In her spare time she loved to read her books or kindle, spend time with her sons, prepare delicious meals every Sunday to share with them, and of course, she never missed an opportunity to make a trip to Vegas to hit the casinos!

Kathleen had such a loving heart for her family, she was a giver right until the day she left this world. She gave her love to her family wholeheartedly with all that she was and definitely left a beautiful legacy in those who were honored to have been touched by her.

May we never forget her love, sass, smile, or laughter; her memories are the beauty of what keeps her spirit alive within our hearts. She will be missed, but she will also be forever loved by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM. A funeral service will begin at 2:30PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
