She was born October 21, 1947 in New Orleans where she resided until marrying the love of her life, John. Until Hurricane Katrina, they were residents of Arabi, in which afterward they moved to Baton Rouge. Kendra eventually returned home to New Orleans following the death of her husband, and spent the remainder of her life in a peaceful state supported by her family.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John. Her parents, Alden and Helen DeFuentes, and sisters Daryl Haren, Marialden Zuckerman, and Dawn Wright.
She is survived by her adoring nieces and nephew: Audra Choate (Richard), Ashley Carse (James), Stacy Soutall, Danielle Zuckerman, Josh Zuckerman (Julia), and Jessica Wright. And her great nieces and nephews: Jaylon, Alden, Simone, Dylan, Marley, Nolan, Georgia, and Benjamin.
Beloved and loving Step Children Debra Scheuermann (Jay), Donna Bogran (Carlos), Diane Melerine (David Jr.), Wayne Garitty (Lisa). Step Grand Children Melissa (Jeremy) Janelle (Nicholas), Kelli (Dustin), Carlos III (Leigh Ann), Kristen (Josh), Rebecca (Eric), David, Victoria (Dennis)and Jonathan (Emily). Step Great Grandchildren Quinn, Amelia, Alyssa, Mackenzie, Morgan, Aubrey, Mason, Addison, Riley, Nora, Eloise and Lily.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. virtue St. Chalmette, LA on Saturday, August 1st from 10:00AM - 11:00AM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00AM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
