Kenneth James Robin Sr. passed away at home while surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the age of 69, after a long and courageous battle with myelofibrosis. He was the loving and devoted husband of 49 years to Eloise Boteler Robin. Loving father to Mary Anne Alfonso and Kenneth Robin Jr. He was the loving father-in-law to Vernon Alfonso Jr. with whom he had a close and special bond, and Karen Simpson Robin to whom he treated and loved as a daughter; a very proud grandfather "Poppy" to Brandi & Dylan Alfonso and Paige & Zachary Robin. He was also a very loving great grandfather of Laila Presley Villanueva. Grandfather-in-law of Marshall Villanueva. Son of the late Jenny Nunez Robin and Sebastian "Chanito" Robin. Brother of Doris Blanchard, Pearl Raasch, Earlene Dardar, Sebastian "Motcho" Robin, Edith Schutter, Martha Meyers, Paul Robin and the late David Robin, Gloria Friere and Mary Abadie. He is survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Yscloskey and later relocated to Violet due to Hurricane Katrina. He enjoyed his career as a commercial fisherman and had a love for deer hunting. He was a longtime member of the Mardi Gras Cowboy's Riding Club and enjoyed riding his Harley with his nephew David Blanchard. Kenneth will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, January 19th from 9:00AM – 12:30PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 12:30PM.
Burial will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
