Kevin Jude Mitchell Roussell Sr.

Kevin Jude Mitchell Roussell Sr. passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the age of 68. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Jeanette Hill Roussell. Loving father of Kevin Jude Mitchell Roussell Jr. (Kristy Lynn) and Nelson Paul Roussell. Son of the late Mitchell Harry Roussell and Marietta Mones Roussell. Brother of Allen Paul Roussell (Ida Thibodeaux), Mitchell Phillip Roussell (Jeannie Gauthe) and Deirdre Anne Roussell Groby (John). Proud grandfather of Leeya Marie Melerine (Jody), Gabrielle Nicole Roussell, Kevin Jude Mitchell Roussell III, Sydney Marie Roussell and Natalie Grace Roussell. Godfather of Maggie Roussell and Jacob B. Groby IV. Grandson of the late Alvin & Eva Mones and Albert & Emma Roussell. Great grandson of the late Joseph Campo. Kevin is also survived and fondly remembered by aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Kevin dedicated much of his life to his family and a fulfilling career in the oil fields. Throughout his career, he embraced the ever-evolving challenges of the industry, always adapting to new technologies and changes with a strong work ethic and determination. When not working, Kevin’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. He loved sharing laughter and creating memories with loved ones, and nothing surpassed his love for his grandchildren. Kevin was a proud member of the Freemasons, past Master of Dominique You Lodge #468, finding fellowship and purpose in his community. Kevin was well loved and affectionately known for his good nature and generous heart. He will be remembered for his warmth and sense of humor. His devotion to his family was beyond measure. Rest in peace, dear Kevin. You leave behind cherished memories that will continue to inspire and lift us all. You will be deeply missed and will live on in the hearts of those you touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, January 2nd from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service in Kevin’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
