Kirk Joseph Picou

Our sweet angel, Kirk Joseph Picou, gained his wings on July 13, 2021. He was 59 years old. He was survived by his wife of 25 years, Roxann Lalumia Picou; his daughter, Payton Marie Picou (Donovan Seeber); his sisters, Gina O'Leary (Michael), Rhonda Picou, and Cheryl Bush (Bobby); his sister-in-law, Rhonda Bordelon (Jimmy), and brother-in-law, Brett Lalumia; his niece and Godchild, Lauren O'Leary Julian (Aaron); his nephew and Godchild, Michael O'Leary, Jr.; his Godchild, Mandy Arnone; his nieces and nephews, Christopher Bush, Chad Bush (Britan), Jake Bordelon, Jared Bordelon, Kristi Ladut (Trey), and Ami Lalumia; and his great-nieces and nephews, Brady, Bailey, Gavin, and Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Gloria Jean Picou and Elliot Norris Picou; by his mother-in-law, the late Loretta Lalumia, his father-in-law, the late Peter Manuel Lalumia; and his brother-in-law, the late Aldo Lalumia.

Kirk was a lifetime resident of St. Bernard Parish and a member of CHS graduating class of 1979. He was a former employee of Buck Kreihs, Mobile, Exxon Chalmette Refinery, PBF, and a member of USW Local 13-522. He retired in 2017, and enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and drinking with his Braithwaite Brothers, Joey Bowley, Danny Hunter, Danny Miller, Troy Lafrance, Jimmy Kamm, Jesse Shaffer, the late Brian Gilmore, the late Wayne "Bubba" Melerine, and many more close friends.

Kirk was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

A funeral mass will be held in his memory at 1:00 PM.
