

Leatrice "Sissy" Theady Trapani entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the age of 70. She was the cherished wife of 40 years to Frank Trapani III; loving mother of Terry Schubert (Allen), Cheryl Remick (Paul), Patti Willoz (Warren), Frank Trapani IV (Patsy), Stephen Guidry (Ashley), and Frank Trapani V (Italia); proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and sister of Susan Howard, MaryAnn Bonura (Ted) and Eddie Theady (Pam). She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Paul Theady and Leatrice Dauterive Theady; and her brother Lester Theady. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Sissy was a woman who embraced life with a spirit of adventure. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and a zest for life that will forever be cherished by her family and friends. She was known for her unwavering love for the casino. Her trips to the casino were moments filled with laughter, excitement, and the thrill of taking chances. Among her family and friends, Sissy was known as an extraordinary actress, often leaving everyone in stitches with her humorous stories.
Sissy had a heart full of love, and she expressed it through her deep connections with friends and family. Her phone calls were like rays of sunshine, brightening the lives of those she spoke to, always offering warmth, love, and a listening ear. One thing Sissy held sacred was her hair, a symbol of her individuality and style. She would never allow anyone to touch it, a testament to her fierce sense of independence and self-expression. Sissy never met a stranger. Within just five minutes of conversation, she knew their life history. Her ability to connect with people on a profound level was a gift that made her friendships even more special. While getting her hair done on cruise ships, Sissy was swift in gathering the current gossip. Her infectious enthusiasm for the latest news and juicy tidbits added an extra layer of excitement to those onboard, and she relished every moment of camaraderie.
Above all else, Sissy's greatest love was reserved for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the stars in her sky, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love and guidance will forever shape their lives and memories.
Sissy's passing leaves a void in our hearts, but her memory will live on in the stories we share and the love we continue to feel for her. She was an amazing and strong woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. May she rest in peace, forever surrounded by the love she so freely gave to others.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, October 12th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a celebration of Sissy’s life beginning at 11:00AM. She will be laid to eternal rest with her beloved husband Frank in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
