It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Love, a beloved daughter, sister, friend, mother, grandmother, and passionate adventurer, who left us on October 30, 2024. Born on May 30, 1947, at Columbia Hospital for Women in Washington, D.C., she was raised in Maryland before moving to Florida, and ultimately calling New Orleans her home. A free spirit at heart, Linda had a love for life that knew no bounds. She was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, known for her love of long rides on her Harley Davidson Street Glide. Over the years, she traversed the United States, attending numerous rallies and events, including the famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota and Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Florida. These trips allowed her to meet kindred spirits, share her passion for riding, and experience the wide-ranging beauty and camaraderie of the motorcycle community. Her love of animals was another defining feature of her character. She was especially devoted to her beloved Dobermann Pinschers—Micah, Ivan, and Gypsy—and her cherished kitty, Miss Ella, whose companionship brought her immense joy and comfort. Although not originally from New Orleans, she embraced the vibrant culture, music, and cuisine of the city that became her home. She relished in the soulful rhythms of jazz, the flavors of Creole cooking, and the lively spirit of the city, making lasting memories with friends and family. Linda was a woman who lived life on her own terms, with a passion and energy that inspired all who knew her. She will be remembered not only for her adventurous spirit but for her kindness, her love of animals, and her unwavering loyalty to her friends and loved ones.
She is survived by her son Anthony David Love (Lisa Picone); her grandchildren, Gwenivere Love Mauro (Philip David), Savannah Brooke Love, Gabriel David Love, Cheyenne Rain Love, Summer Love Boutselis (Charles Peter) and Samantha Morgan Love; her great grandchildren, Noah David Mauro, Bradley Joseph Duncan, David Shelly Love Gomez, Charles Peter Boutselis Jr., and London Monroe Boutselis; her siblings, Maxine Nadel Yackman (the late Harry) and Harvey Daniel Nadel (Linda Ann). She is preceded in death by her parents, Morris Nadel and Anna Levinson Nadel, and her son Michael Edward Love. She will be missed, but her spirit will continue to ride on, forever free.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 9:30 AM-12:00 PM.
