

Louise Hall Byrnes, age 95, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023 in Chalmette, LA. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her very memorable life. She was the beloved daughter of the late Albert Hale Hall & Lillie Beatrice Sheppard Hall in New Orleans, LA. She was the devoted wife of the late Elwood Louis Byrnes. Sister of the late Beatrice Meeks.
She is survived by her 3 children, Sharon Stierwald, Judy Zeisloft, and William “Bill” Byrnes. Mother-in-law of Richard ”Rick” Stierwald, Harold “Randy” Zeisloft, and Kathleen “Kathy” Byrnes. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Robert Stierwald (Lisa), Julie Meyer (Troy), Tracie Mieth (Riley), Randall Zeisloft, Adrienne Additon (BJ), Stephanie Bianchini (Eric), Emily Byrnes (fiancé Corey), and Timothy Byrnes as well as 11 great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Stierwald, Robert Stierwald, Jr., Izador Meyer, Abel Meyer, Parker Mieth, Tucker Mieth, Alley Zeisloft, Hailey Zeisloft, Alexander “Lex” Additon, Lana Additon, Adam Bianchini. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Louise had a long and fulfilling life. Along with time spent with her family and friends, she was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America and longtime member of St. Bernard Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player, world traveler, and an accomplished seamstress, making cherished apparel for family and friends.
She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Methodist Church, 115 E. D’Amour St, Chalmette, LA 70043 on Saturday, December 2nd from 10:00AM – 12:30PM, followed by a celebration of Louise’s life beginning at 12:30PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in Carrollton Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.
