Madelyn Marvell Baldo

August 17, 1929December 5, 2018

Madelyn Baldo, wife of the late Harry Baldo, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. She was 89 years old. She was the loving mother of Madelyn Crawford (the late Melvin Springer, Jr.), Donna Gueno (Norman), Gwendolyn Burkhardt (Alan), Louis Baldo (Theresa) and Harry Baldo (Angele). Grandmother of Dawn Long, Melvin Springer III, Kelly Gueno, Bridget Andrews, Kimberly Abadie, Julie Salvadore, Lisa Marquete, Stacy Baily, Melony Hill, Laurie Lassere, and Justin Baldo. She also leaves behind 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, that she loved dearly. She was the sister of Elizabeth Jones and O’Mara Dewhirst, and was preceded in death by 11 other siblings. Madelyn took great pride in, and was honored to be, a Eucharistic Minister and Catechism teacher at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She was employed by the St. Bernard Parish School Board as a custodian, and worked for many years at Andrew Jackson High School and Arabi Park Middle. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CHURCH, 2320 Paris Road, in Chalmette, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM. A mass will be held in her honor at 11:00 AM.

AUNT MATT WAS ONE OF A KIND.... SHE LOVED HER FAMILY AND "JESUS"... NEVER HAD A BAD WORD TO SAY ABOUT ANYONE.... SHE LOVED HER CHRISTMAS'S WITH HER FAMILY SINGING THE ENTIRE DAY W/ALL HER TALENTED CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN AND EVEN THE BABIES BANGING ON DRUMS.... THAT WAS HER DAY AND SHE LOVED IT...SHE WAITED FOR HER HUSBANDS BIRTHDAY 12/5 TO GIVE HIM THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL....."HER" ...WHAT A HOMECOMING THAT WAS FOR HIM...SHE HAD THE MOST BEAUTIFUL REUNION W/ HER MOM & DAD & ALL HER BROTHERS AND SISTERS THAT HAVE GONE BEFORE HER.... AND MANY MORE FRIENDS AND FAMILY THAT LOVED HER DEARLY... HAPPY THAT SHE NO LONGER SUFFERS IN HER ETERNAL DAYS..... YOU WERE MUCH LOVED AND WILL FOREVER REMAIN IN OUR HEARTS....
