It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the family of Marcus Joseph Casbon, Jr. announces his passing after many medical conditions and complications, on November 4, 2018, at the age of 62. Born in Bogalusa, Louisiana on March 7, 1956, he was a resident of Chalmette, Louisiana. He was a longshoreman and was a member of Local 3000. Marcus is preceded in death by his adored mother, Claudette Casbon Fischer, his father Marcus J. Casbon, Sr., his brother Derek Travis Casbon, his stepdad Paul Fischer, Sr., his father-in-law Raymond J. Franatovich Sr., brother-in-law Raymond J. Franatovich, Jr. and many other close relatives. Marcus will be lovingly and forever missed by his wife of 41 years, Sharon Franatovich Casbon and his 5 children, Alisha Casbon (Richie), Brandy Casbon (Paul), Brandon Casbon, Bradley Casbon (Jessica), Kayla Casbon (Brian), his 4 cherished grandchildren Victoria, Christopher, Carter, Parker and one on the way. He was also adored and loved by his two sisters, Kim Arnold (Richie) and Cheri Delahoussaye (Edwin, Sr.), his godchildren Tara Casbon, Edwin Delahoussaye, Jr., Tyler Faul and Gabrielle, mother-in-law Marguerite Zulli Franatovich, brothers-in-law David Franatovich (Cindy), Stevie Franatovich (Debbie), Mark Franatovich (Melissa), and sister-in-law Janet Franatovich. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends, and his spoiled fur babies Ali, Chico and Beau. Marcus’ passion in life was his family and friends. He had an ability to reach people in a deep and positive way and loved making everyone laugh. He loved cooking and loved inviting his whole family over for some gumbo or spaghetti and meatballs. He spent many days and weekends at the ball park with his children and grandchildren. He also shared a passion for flowers, plants and fish ponds with his mother. No one loved his entire family like he did and he will be sadly missed by everyone whose life he touched.
Relatives, friends and his close friends of Local 3000 are invited to a memorial and celebration of his life at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CHURCH, 2320 PARIS ROAD, Chalmette, Louisiana on Saturday, November 17, 2018, from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM.
