Marie O Marino

It is with sadness and gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce the passing of Marie Marino. She entered Heaven’s gates on May 3, 2026, where she was reunited with her loving husband of 59 years, Bernard. Together again, they begin their new journey in Heaven.

She is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love, her faith, and the memories she created with them.

To those who loved her, Marie was more than a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was Mawmaw. Her grandchildren will always remember sleepovers at her house, nights spent playing board games, and the simple joy of being together.

Marie had a deep Catholic faith and held a special devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary. Her faith guided her throughout her life and gave her peace, comfort, and purpose.

She and Bernard shared many wonderful adventures together, traveling to places such as Alaska, Hawaii, Italy, New Zealand, and many others. She was an avid reader, often with a book in hand, and she also enjoyed crocheting, with many of her handmade blankets kept throughout her home.

Although Marie is no longer with us, her love remains. She will be deeply missed and forever held in our hearts.

We invite you to join us in honoring Marie on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Memorial services will be held at St Bernard Gardens and Funeral Home, 701 West Virtue Street, Chalmette, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 9am-11am followed by a mass service and burial.
