Mary Gioia Galland entered into eternal on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the age of 92. She was the cherished and deeply loved wife of the late Wells Galland for 73 years. Loving mother of 2 daughters, Donna Galland Kern and Becky Galland Riecke. Proud grandmother of Christopher Jerome Kern, Jourdain Wells Riecke, Joshua Michael Kern and Samantha Mary Riecke. Great grandmother of Wells Galland Riecke and Silas Ian Maguire. Daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Maltese Gioa. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. Mary will be forever remembered for her great cooking and especially her love and devotion to her family. She enjoyed spending time gardening. Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
