Michael Everett Schenck

It is with heartfelt love that we celebrate the life and memory of Michael Everett Schenck, who passed away at the age of 63. He was a one-of-a-kind soul who found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. He never married and did not have children of his own, but his life was filled with something just as precious—family, friendship, love, and countless memories shared with the people who meant the most to him.

A true homebody, Michael was happiest on his own property, enjoying the comfort and peace of his home. But while he loved being at home, he never wanted to be alone. His home was a place where family and friends were always welcome. He enjoyed having the people he loved around him, sharing laughter, stories, good times, and the everyday moments that become treasured memories. Though he may not have had children of his own, the love he poured into his nieces and nephews was undeniable. He was a beloved brother, uncle, family member, and friend whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him.

Above all, Michael loved his family deeply. He did not need a life filled with extravagance to be happy. His greatest treasures were found close to home—in his family, his collection of coins, his property, and the people who gathered around him. His life reminds us that some of the most beautiful memories are created in the simplest places, surrounded by the people we love. One of his favorite passions was collecting coins. He took great pleasure in finding, collecting, and appreciating coins, and his collection was a reflection of the patience and curiosity that made him who he was.

Michael is survived by his siblings, Gary Schenck Sr. (Vickie), Louis Schenck and Debbie Maiaro (the late Albert); his nieces and nephews, Gary Schenck Jr. (Jennifer), Katie Schenck Faust (Justin), Jason Cutrer and Jamie Maiaro Crow (Brad); his great nieces and nephews, Abbie Schenck, Lexie Schenck, Haylie Schenck, Chloie Schenck, Carter Faust, Courtney Cutrer, Lindsey Cutrer, Brennan Crow and Braydon Crow. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Jacob Schenck Jr. & Evelyn Cook Schenck.

Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave will remain. Every story shared, every memory remembered, and every family gathering will carry a piece of him forward. Rest peacefully, Michael. You were deeply loved, you will be greatly missed, and you will never be forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS. 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 11:30 AM.
