Beloved Mother and Devoted Catholic Woman

No Thi Nguyen passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the age of 95 at 3pm. She was surrounded by her family and love ones until the end.

No, more known as “Bà Chuyên”, is survived by her eight children, Ms. Khuyên (Sang), Mr. Xuyên (Mai), Mr. Huyên (Yen), Ms. Hoa (Toan), Mr. Thê (Linh), Ms. Hong-Marcia (Doan), Ms. Tuoi-Amanda (Johnny), and Mr. Phuong (Linda): thirty grandchildren, and over twenty great grand kids.

Bà Chuyên was preceded in death by her husband, Chuyên Nguyen.

Bà Chuyên immigrated from Vietnam in 1975. She settled in New Orleans East and a lifelong member with the Mary Queen of Vietnam Church. She is part of the church’s organization, Các Bà Me, active supporter of Hôi Thánh Linh, and resides in Khu Vinh Son-Palace Street.

Bà Chuyên will be remembered for her boundless generosity to the catholic community and unwavering love for her faith in God. She loves to cook “Cá Kho” and will always be remembered for her fish dishes among her grandchildren. She loves to watch YouTube videos of her home country, Vietnam’s tourist destination. She is well loved by her family and will be deeply missed.

A visitation for Ms. Nguyen will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA 70043.

A visitation will take place Friday, November 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA 70043.

A Funeral Mass will take place Friday, November 14, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mary Queen of Vietnam Church, 14001 Dwyer Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70129.

A visitation will take place Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA 70043.

A Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Mary Queen of Vietnam Church, 14001 Dwyer Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70129.

Ms. Nguyen will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA 70043.
