Odette Neel Colombo

Odette, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Her spirit will live on to all those she touched. Odette now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Victor Colombo, her parents, Jean Louis Neel and Odette Bernier Neel, her brother Claude Neel, her sister Elizabeth Doerr, her granddaughter Tammi Brubaker and her son- in laws, George Vallery, Harry Roach and Ronald Casse.

Odette was blessed with a beautiful family, she is survived by her daughters, Vicki Brubaker (David), Joanna Vallery, Beryl Colombo and Odette Griffin (Ralph). Grandmother of Victor (Valerie), Dawn (Anthony), Nicole (Nick), Jeremy, Joshua, Royce and Rachel. Great- grandmother of Mary, Bernadette, Charlotte, Theodore, Jaslynn, Landon and Auden. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, neighbors and dear friends.

Odette was born November 24, 1934 in New Orleans, LA. She was a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA. Odette was a retired paraprofessional with the St. Bernard School Board for 20 years. She was a parishioner of the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, in Chalmette, LA. Odette had a joyful personality. She loved history, reading and traveling to places of interest. Odette found great happiness enjoying gatherings with her family. Odette will be sadly missed by her family, and many friends she has met through the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at OUR LADY of PROMPT SUCCOR CHURCH, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Friday, September 20th from 10:00AM – 12:00PM, followed by a memorial mass for Odette & Victor Colombo (04/30/2020) memory beginning at 12:00PM. Burial to follow at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
