Patrick Mouton

Patrick Mouton, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on July 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, integrity, and hard work. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, veteran, respected horse trainer, and loyal friend whose passion for horses, family, and life touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on October 27, 1944, Patrick was raised in Louisiana, where he developed a lifelong love for horses, the outdoors, and the simple joys of life. He graduated from Judice High School and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserve, exemplifying the values of honor, discipline, and service that guided him throughout his life.

Following his military service, Patrick dedicated himself to his true passion—training horses. Through years of hard work, knowledge, patience, and commitment, he earned the respect and admiration of owners, jockeys, and fellow horsemen throughout the racing community. To Patrick, working with horses was more than a profession; it was a lifelong calling that brought him great pride and fulfillment.

Patrick was the beloved husband of Pamela Mouton. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. He is survived by his children, Ashley Mouton, Stephanie Robin Herbert, and Michelle Robin, who will forever treasure his guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love.

He was a proud grandfather to Allie Herbert, Shay Herbert, Joseph Robin, Timmy Trimble, Taylor Rozar, Jeamm Mouton, Micha Land, and Ava Land, and was blessed with one great-grandchild. His family was his greatest joy, and he took pride in celebrating their accomplishments, sharing in their lives, and creating memories they will carry with them forever.

Outside of his work and family, Patrick enjoyed many hobbies that brought him happiness and allowed him to spend time with others. He loved golfing, fishing, and bowling, and he appreciated the friendships, relaxation, and enjoyment these activities brought into his life.

Patrick will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, humble spirit, and unwavering work ethic. He treated others with respect and generosity and always led by example. Whether at the racetrack, spending time outdoors, enjoying his hobbies, or surrounded by family and friends, Patrick left a lasting impression through his kindness, wisdom, and genuine character.

His legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply, the horses he trained, the friendships he built, and the countless lives he touched along the way. Though he will be profoundly missed, the love he shared and the values he instilled will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
