

Patricia “Patsy” Serpas Assevado passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the age of 83. She was the cherished wife of the late Joseph “Toto” Assevado Jr. Loving mother of Malcolm Assevado (Cynthia), Dan Assevado (Lenore), Joyce Frichter (Aubert “AJ” Tassin), Loyce Alonzo (Gene) and Mona Flanagan (Michael Sr.). Daughter of the late Malcolm and Cecille Ritter Serpas. Sister of Ethel Rano (Mingo) and the late Irene Hasik (Bud). Proud grandmother of Tammy Alonzo, Gina Powell (Glenn), Alicia Pecoraro (Mark), Michael Flanagan Jr. (Sherry), Cory Assevado (Ashley), Rebecca Assevado, Heidi Bennett (Troy), Gretchen Frichter-Adams (Travis) and Arnold Frichter III. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her 16 great-grandchildren, her one great-great grandchild, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Patsy was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. She always had the ability to take the most insignificant moment in time and make it a memory for all of us. She was well loved, and affectionately known as the “crab meat lady”. She will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2805 Bayou Rd, St Bernard, LA on Saturday, February 27th from 10:00AM - 12:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 12:00PM. She will be laid to rest with her dear husband in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
