Peggy Ann (Huerstel) Torres

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Peggy Ann Huerstel Torres who passed away at the age of 73. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Peggy was the loving wife to the late Alvin J. Torres Jr. She was the caring mother to Catherine Torres and Ryan Torres (Amy Torres). Proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren; sister of Henry Huerstel and David Huerstel; aunt too many nieces and nephews. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Rita Huerstel; her son, Lyle Torres; her brother, Clem Huerstel Jr.

Peggy was a vibrant presence at Harvest Manor nursing home, where she delighted in playing cards, bingo, and various games with fellow residents. Her contagious laughter and warm spirit brought comfort and camaraderie to all who knew her. Her greatest happiness came from sharing stories and laughter with her brothers and sisters-in-law, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she cherished dearly. She will be deeply missed by her family, including her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and extended family. Peggy's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS.
