Philip Perera

June 4, 1955August 8, 2019

Philip Perera passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the age of 64. Loving father of Krystle Perera and Desiree Copping. Son of the late Philip Claude Perera and Alida Bernard Perera. Brother of Phyllis Heim and the late Brian Perera. Brother-in-law of the late Ronald Heim. Proud grandfather of Raven, Christian, Brandon, Jacob, Ryan and the late Derrick. Also survived by his niece Christina. Philip was born on June 4, 1955 in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was a proud United States Army Veteran and retired electrician. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends. Military honors will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 2:00 PM at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, followed by a memorial gathering at Lehrmann’s Bar and Billiards, 135 W. St. Bernard Hwy, Chalmette, LA on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org in memory of Philip.

Philip and I grew up around the corner from each other and were neighborhood friends. We reunited our friendship 8 years ago and often reminisced our neighbood fun.
