Randy Len Dupriest Jr., also known as “Lil” Randy, age 34, died on Thursday April 8, 2021 at 6pm as a result of an automobile accident. Randy was born on July 3, 1986 in Metairie, Louisiana and was raised in Meraux, LA where he remained a resident of the Parish up until the storm, Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005.
He was a member of The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral of New Orleans, LA. During his formative years he played baseball and basketball for the Borgnemouth Braves in St. Bernard Parish, under the guidance of his father Randy Dupriest Sr. who was a coach of the team. Beginning his love of the game and being a baseball enthusiast his entire life. Randy was also a huge LSU Tigers & New Orleans Saints Fan.
He attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Holy Cross in New Orleans, and graduated from Chalmette High School in 2004. He lived in Texas in 2005-2006 after the storm courtesy of the incredibly gracious and loved extended family in East Texas, before residing in Bush, LA. in 2006.
In 2007 Randy Jr, became the proud father of Madison Dupriest, who he loved very dearly! He enjoyed and encouraged her participation in regional and travel teams of both soccer and softball. He loved spending time together, in the backyard, and rooting for her along the side lines, watching movies, playing rummy together and riding the 4 wheeler. He also loved the family gatherings, grilling and hanging out in the backyard with his family and riding the back roads of Bush, Louisiana looking for deer with his father.
He worked for Boh Bros, Cajun Industries and A&E Engine & Compression prior to going back to school. He graduated from Northshore Technical Community College of Lacombe for drafting and design and received a degree in 2018. He also worked at Bodin and Webb, Inc. Consulting Engineers & Land Surveyors alongside his mentors Mr. Bill, Mr. Dale, April & Max.
Randy Len Dupriest Jr., is proceed in death his "Paw Paw" Dub Dupriest, his "Maw Maw" Faye Dupriest (Paternal), his "Papooh" Big Al Hodge Jr. (Maternal), and his aunt Paraskevi Hodge.
He is survived by his father Randy Len Dupriest Sr., his mother Ellen Hodge Dupriest, his younger brother Ross Dupriest, his daughter Madison Dupriest, his "YaYa" Maria Hodge (Maternal), his Godfather / Uncle / "Unk" Al Hodge III, his Godmother / Aunt Sheila Dupriest, his Uncle Larry Dupriest, and cousins Wesley and Mallory Dupriest. He is also survived by numerous cousins in the greater New Orleans area and in Greece on the Greek side of the family (maternal) and numerous cousins in Texas (Paternal).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, April 19th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service in Randy’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
