

Affectionately known as Ray to his family and friends, Raymond Joseph Ducote Sr. returned to his Lord and Savior on August 7, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on January 5,1955 to the late Emmet J. Ducote Sr., and the late Mary Lovoi Ducote. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Julie LaGrange Ducote, and the late Pamela Simon Ducote. Beloved father of Raymond J. Ducote Jr. (Belinda), Paul J. Ducote Sr. (Nancy), Douglas A. Ducote (Crystal) and Chantel M. Ducote (Nicole). Stepfather to Paul J. Reeson and Adam K. Reeson. He is survived by his grandchildren and anyone who knew him knew he adored them, RJ (Chrystine), Destiny, PJ(Lexi), Tony, Bryce, Gabrielle(Matt),Tristan, Kristen, Ray, Jessica and one due in April along with 14 great grandchildren and his furry baby girl Mittens. Ray is survived by 3 brothers, Vincent Ducote Sr., Robert Ducote Sr. (Glenda) & Donald Ducote Sr. (Kathy) and is preceded in death by the late Eddie Ducote, Mary Ann DeArmas, Gayle Giroir, Emmet Ducote Jr., and Jerry Ducote Sr. (Angie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Ray served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army National Guard, was a member of the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Department, and was an amazing body and fender technician. He was well known for his custom trim work and painting. He had so many talents and could just about build you anything you could imagine. He had many hobbies including fishing, crossword puzzles, building small models, hunting and spending time with family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA from 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Dr., Slidell, LA 70460.
