It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard J. Totorico, a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, and friend. He was the loving husband for over 35 wonderful years to Gwendolyn W. Totorico. Caring father to Richard Totorico Jr., Christy Totorico Fender, Alison Totorico Portier (Derry), Catherine Shephard, Tammy Arbona, Michael J. Fos (Carrie) and Lori Thompson (Garrison). Proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren; great-grandfather to 7 great-grandchildren; brother to Raymond (Junior) Totorico, Ceasar (C.J.) Totorico, Geraldine McKenzie, Diane Zweifel and Carolyn Shirley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond A. Totorico and Retha A. Luscy; his siblings, Joycelyn Gourgues, Theresa Ancor and Ronnie Totorico.
Born on May 25, 1947, Richard lived a life filled with adventure and passion. For over 35 years, he was blessed to have a loving wife by his side. His marriage was the foundation of his happiness, and the bond he shared with his spouse was unbreakable. Richard retired from Insulators Local Union #53. He loved riding his motorcycle, taking a cruise with family, cooking and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Richard’s greatest pleasure was being a member of Jerusalem Shrine as a Noble for 25 years, Dante Lodge 174 where he served as Worshipful Master in 2008, Jerusalem Shrine Motorcycle Escort Unit, St. Bernard Shrine Drum & Bugle Corp, St. Bernard Shrine Club and Eastlake Shrine Dune Buggy Unit and riding in parades such as Knight of Nemisis Club and Irish, Italian, Islenos Club. He will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
