Ricky J. Guerra III

Ricky "Rick" Joseph Guerra III was granted his angels wings on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the age of 28. He was the beloved son of Misty G. Moley (Tony Moley) and Ricky J. Guerra Jr. (Natasha Guerra) Devoted father of Kiley Rae Guerra, Riley Mae Guerra and their mother Shellbie Moley. Brother of Mason M. Melerine (Alexis Howell), Manny G. Guerra and Ava A. Guerra. Grandson of Karen Carreras (the late Buddy George), Tony Louis Ridgel, Ricky Guerra Sr. (Beth R. Guerra), Donald Colletti Sr. (Rita Colletti) and the late Linda Lala Keiff. Great grandson of Ralph D. Carreras Sr. (the late Frances H. Carreras), Thelma A. Guerra (the late Rufino J. Guerra) and the late Jesse Ridgel Sr., Betty R. Ridgel, Louise M. Prendergast and Mike Lala. Ricky is also fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Ricky was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of Violet, LA where he enjoyed a career as both a commercial fisherman / CDL Driver. He truly enjoyed life through his simple pleasures of fishing and enjoying time with his children, his family and his friends. He found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for his family and friends. Ricky will always be remembered for his dedication to his family, his loving spirit and his laughter. He was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and will be deeply missed by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service in Ricky’s memory beginning at 3:00 PM. He will be laid to eternal rest in a private ceremony at a later date.
