Rose Mary Fair Hedrick

Rose Mary Fair Hedrick passed away peacefully at North Oaks Hospital on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the age of 90. Her life was filled with love of family and friends. Rose had a lifetime of sharing, caring and endless giving to her children, family and her charities. She was the most loving and caring mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

She is proceeded in death by her loving husband Alvin “Honey” of 64 years, her parents, Emile and Emma Fair, her brothers, Roy and Emile Jr.

She is the loving mother of Alvin (Judy), Jake (Robin), Joan Buhler (Ken), Thomas (Vicky) and Johnny Hedrick. She has 3 lovely granddaughters, Amy Plaia (Darren), Shannon Hedrick (Eric) and Alexandra Hedrick. Rose will be fondly remembered by her 5 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Rose was a resident of Chalmette, LA for most of her lifetime where she raised her 5 children, attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church faithfully and loved shopping at Winn Dixie. The last eleven years of her life she resided in Hammond, LA. She enjoyed sitting at her kitchen table having her morning coffee and watching the birds, family gatherings, reading her devotionals, and watching Mass daily.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all those she touched. The family is at peace knowing she is presently and forever with her Lord and Savior, as well as her "Honey", parents, brothers and friends whom she missed greatly.

Special thanks to the staff of North Oaks Hospital and all her home care givers for the loving care and devotion through these last years here on earth.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation and celebration of her life to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
