

On Sunday, February 25, 2024, Rose "Rosie" DiMarco Hintzen, a loving wife, mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord at the age of 99. Rose was a busy housewife, business partner; and caretaker of many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had an unquestionable love for her family. Rose had many gifts. She was an extraordinary cook; she loved to sew, play Bingo, and do crossword puzzles. She was a faithful catholic and loved to help and attend St. Joseph's Alters. She was a lively storyteller and would share family stories from her youth and beyond with all who would listen. She loved her son and daughter immensely and missed them greatly after their passing. She was very social and made friends everywhere she went. She was larger than life and all who knew her loved her.
Rose was a New Orleans, Chalmette, Gonzales, and Metairie, Louisiana resident. Most recently, she was a resident of Biloxi, Mississippi. She will be remembered for her wonderful family dinners, fun loving nature, and ability to grab anyone near her attention. Rose is the last child of Salvador DiMarco and Rosilee Antonia DiMarco from Bisacquino, Italy. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 64 years, Chris Hintzen, her beautiful children, Carlo Hintzen (Barbara) and Carol "Dina" Keating (Lionel), her brothers and sister. She was deeply loved by her nephew Paul McCord (Phyllis), grandchildren, Wendy Hintzen Luscy (Todd), Tracy Keating Canino (Frank), Kim Hintzen Goodale (Barron), Jeff Keating (Heather), and Christopher Hintzen, and multiple great and great great grandchildren, all of whom deeply love her.
All of her friends from Metairie Manor and Greenbriar Nursing Home will miss her. The family would like to thank Greenbriar Nursing Home and their staff for loving Rose and taking such good care of her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
