Russell Joseph Prats, Sr., a native of St. Bernard Parish, born November 3, 1959, united with our loving Father on April 27, 2023, comforted by his loving family. Jesus opened his arms as the angels sang in jubilation of his presence be not afraid, eternal life of no pain; no sorrow, only the Glory of God to sustain. He was a wonderful husband, provider and loving father to his family. The proud owner of Delacroix Seafood, a dedicated hard worker, always striving for the betterment of his beloved family.
An avid New Orleans "Saints" fan, that's where you'd find him during game time hooting & hollering, win or lose. He loved gardening and with that came the desire to have the final tree planted and so it was, by his direction of course, leaving us the reminder of carrying on his art. His love of line dancing was his other art so we're convinced he's dancing among the magnificent colored heavenly garden, his paradise, his home.
Russell's love of his beloved wife of 41 years, Jeanette is an inspiration to the young generation. He bestowed on her kind words, loving notions and great devotions a loving man humble and kind a friend to all mankind. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette "Nettie" Morales Prats; Children, Sherry (Jess), Rachel, Kristy (Jeremiah), Chad (Ashley) and Dustin (Janice); Grandchildren, Zoe, Julia, Jax, Damon, Leila, Evan, Joe, Gavin, Gage, Grayson, Lawrence Jr., Shae, Chad, Jr., Maya, Layla "Bug”; Great-grandson, Gavin Russell; Mother, Leona Alexander; Sisters, Charlotte (Bernard), and Wanda (Scott); Brothers, Brian, Tony, Kevin, and Vincent (Denise); Sister-in-law, Barbara Seal (Richard); and a host of extended family and friends.
